Beginner Wheel Course – Thursday Nights 5–7pm (6 Weeks)

This six-week course is for beginners who want to build confidence and skill on the wheel through repetition and practice. The focus is on throwing — and throwing a lot.

Rather than aiming to perfect one pot, you’ll be encouraged to keep going, make more, and learn faster by doing more. Clay will be reclaimed and reused along the way, so you won’t be limited by materials — This course focuses on skill development, the more you throw, the more confident and capable you’ll become. 

Limited to just four students to make sure everyone benefits from individual attention and that learning is supported in a focused, relaxed environment.

Students enrolled in this course also receive up to 2 hours of access per week to the studio during Open Studio hours (Mon–Fri 10AM–4PM)

Course Outline:

Week 1: Introduction to throwing

Week 2: Recap on throwing

Week 3: Trimming fundamentals - refining your work and finishing details. 

Week 4: Focused throwing and shaping forms

Week 5: Trimming 

Week 6: Glazing - learn techniques for an even, flawless finish. 

You’ll finish with about 8 pieces that will be ready for pick up 2-4 weeks after your course.

Good to know:

– Bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting messy
